A brief History of Disney Cruises!
At the Present time Disney Cruises operates two ships, the ‘Disney Magic’ and the ‘Disney Wonder’. The ‘Disney Magic’ first sailed under the Disney theme, on July 30 1998 and the ‘Disney Wonder’, followed a year later on August 15 1999. Each of these ships has 875 staterooms and are almost identical in their design, with just a few variations in their restaurants and entertainment settings.
Both of these ships offer areas designed exclusively for various age groups, including toddlers, young kids, teens, and adults making them a one of a kind unique family cruise experience.
The ‘Disney Magic’ and the ‘Disney Wonder’ are the first cruise ships in the industry to be designed and built as family cruise liners, with the emphasis definitely on the family aspect of this experience.
It provides both parents and children a cruise of their own. So that all aspects of family life is catered for and provided. One of the important things many parents greatly appreciate is that neither of these ships includes a casino.

So the first Cruise ship the ‘Disney Magic’ which departs Port Canaveral, Florida each Saturday for a 7 day voyage to either the Eastern or the Western Caribbean. The second ship, the ‘Disney Wonder’, also departs from Port Canaveral, but is for the shorter 3 or 4 day cruises.

If you choose the Land and Sea Vacation Option
The land and sea package is a 7 day split vacation that includes either a 3 or 4 night stay at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, combined with a 3 or 4 night cruise to Nassau in the Bahamas and to the Disney private island getaway of ‘Castaway Cay’.
Disney offers two options in their land and sea cruise package to choose from. Both are 7 day vacations but differ in the itinerary, so that it splits the two vacation portions that offers, Cruise first and Resort second or vice-versa. Whichever suits you best?
